AirPods 5

They're here! One of my favorite announcements from this year's iPhone event: AirPods 5! After a bit of a struggle with UPS and not being around to sign for my package from Apple, (twice) I finally managed to acquire a pair this weekend from a local Best Buy (like its 1998) to give them a whirl.

I use AirPods a lot. Ever since they first came out, I've been in love with them, despite sitting out the AirPods 2 and 3 because they never really fit my ears well. I also tried and eventually gave up on AirPods Pro because I absolutely cannot stand the feeling of what is essentially wearing earplugs.

AirPods Max are my go-to for obvious reasons, but when I'm out and about, I don't exactly want to look like a huge dork walking around with over-the-ear headphones on. 🎧

Improved ANC alone would have been enough to get me excited about upgrading, but we've also been blessed with volume sliders, à la the AirPods Pro! This much-missed feature is available with the wireless-charging-capable case version of the product.

So far in my testing, the ANC has indeed improved. Not massively, but noticeably enough that I can tell the difference. The real test will be when I take these bad boys on my next plane trip.🤞
